A goal I have every time I go out to play eighteen holes of golf is: to have a double bogie free round, to not lose a single ball and to shoot under eighty.
In the past, I have been able to achieve this goal several times a year, but this year has unfortunately confronted me with a completely dry spell.
You know the feeling, you are only getting older and perhaps it is time to accept that it is over.
Today I finally did it again, completely unexpectedly when all my hopes were dwindling as the winter season got closer and closer.
But wait, what happened this morning? From the more challenging championship back tees, I shot a stellar 38 + 38 = 76. There is still hope for this aging golfer.
In only seven years from now, if I can repeat this amazing performance, I will have officially shot my age. I cannot wait.
(My handicap dropped to 6.1)
