The kind folks at Atlassian have approved by addon and it is now publicly available on their marketplace website. Hopefully people will find it and ask me to help them out.

After having used Ubuntu for years and staying with 16.10 for quite some time, I decided what the heck. First I upgraded to 17.04 and then I upgraded to 17.10. Unlike previous upgrades, everything went smoothly and I didn't have a single problem along the way.

A collection of advanced tooling which provides seamless data migration from Assembla to Jira.

Assembla to Jira Migration Tool

This is by far the best migration toolset around. Here are the reasons why this version beats out all others hands down:

  • Fully automated with minimal manual actions.
  • Configuration file with various options.
  • Import users (names, emails, roles and permissions).
  • Import tickets, comments, attachments and relationships.
  • Retain ticket status, labels, ranking and custom fields.
  • Link back to original Assembla tickets for reference.
  • Save relevant Assembla context in user-defined fields.
  • Insert embedded image thumbnails in descriptions and comments.
  • Convert markdown and urls.
  • Retain watchers of tickets.
  • Create scrum or kanban board with workflow.
  • Map Assembla milestones to Jira sprints.
  • Populate the backlog, future and current sprints.
  • Assign stories to epics.
  • Resolve cross linking between external projects.
  • Take into account the API differences between hosted and cloud.
  • Tons of great documentation and trouble-shooting guide.

I come down
from the misty mountain
I got lost
on the human highway
Take my head
refreshing fountain
Take my eyes
from what they've seen.
Take my head
and change my mind
How could people
get so unkind.
