Abruptly stopped

This afternoon I somehow mustered up enough courage to go on a run after too many weeks of idle nothingness.

After speeding along for just under five minutes, I was abruptly blocked by some high fence because of road work. The only way to continue would be to climb over that wobbly obstacle and risk falling into the waterway on either side.

In the end, I did what was expected of me. I made a hundred-and-eighty degree turn and walked at a relaxed pace back to the starting point.

Anything slightly resembling a viable excuse was enough for me. Better luck next weekend.
